Faithful Catholic mom, Fitness enthusiast, Fearless Wife of an Entrepreneur and budding Homeschool mamma
The title says it all, but I'll elaborate a little bit. I was born and raised Catholic, strayed away back in college a bit as some do from faith, but I came back stronger than ever. And over the past few years, my faith has continuously increased as I'm starting to read more and dive into apologetics. Now, I'm no scholar. I watch a lot of Father Mike Schmitz (Check him out HERE), I started reading on my own, and I actually lean on my sister a bunch too for her extensive knowledge as she pours over books a lot. (I really admire her for how much she reads and studies). Oh, and you can check out an AMAZING Catholic podcast, even if you're not Catholic, to learn more about faith. It's not just fluff either. There is actual sound backing. Click HERE to check out the Salt and Light podcast.
Fitness has always been a huge part of my life too. I played sports in elementary school and high school, then went to college and thought that a healthy salad meant blue cheese dressing with parmesan cheese mixed with fried chicken pieces (great googly moogly ugh), then getting myself together learning more about the body and training for fitness and figure competitions, to then battling body dysmorphia and finally getting on an even keel to now training for marathons and qualifying for the Boston Marathon. There ya go. A snippet into my fitness journey! It hasn't been easy, but I am on an awesome track right now, and I am so much more healthy than when I was competing on stage.
Alright, now as far as being the wife of an entrepreneur it is nothing short of a wild ride. Kody and I started several businesses together when we were pregnant with our first child and from there each year has become more and more wild. His head is constantly spinning with ideas, and he's a really smart, forward thinking business person who is constantly learning, and he's surrounded by an awesome team too. I'm really thankful for all of his teammates. They are hard working individuals who believe in Kody's vision and want to show up with him every day.
Our homeschool journey has just begun but boy oh boy have I learned a lot so far. It's amazing how God has had his hand in every step of this journey from the beginning to where we are now. I wouldn't trade it for anything either. Getting to be at home with my kids on a daily basis is such as blessing and a joy. I truly mean that. There are so many people who say, "I could never be with my kids all day", "I could never be at home all day.", "I could never teach my kids." It takes a certain mentality, not necessarily personality, I don't think. Your mind has to switch gears and think, "I get to actually watch my kiddos grow each and every day! I get to embrace them constantly every day, because one day I won't be able to pick them up like I can now. I have all of the time in the world, so stressing out like you do when you have to do homework is essentially not there." It's a beautiful ride that we're on, and I don't take it for-granted at all whatsoever.
In general, this blog encompasses who I am as a wife and mother, and I'm really excited to share everything about my life, including some of my favorite things that keep us going on a day to day basis especially. Some of the articles leave me a bit vulnerable, especially the ones pending to be released, but it's who I am, it's where I've been and it's who I'm becoming. It's also a little raw and unrefined for some posts. Sharing these posts has my heart fluttering a bit, but it's part of my adventure to being unapologetically me. :) Props to my husband too for pushing me to get a blog going again, share my stories and put it all out there. If you don't see something on here that peaks your interest and you'd like to learn more about a certain topic, give me a shout and Contact Me. I'd love to hear from you. Oh, and I should point out that if you're looking for a perfectly grammatically filtered blog, this totally ain't the place for you haha Happy reading! ;)
