If you would have told me years ago that I would have qualified to run in the Boston Marathon I would have said, "gee, that sounds great. One day I'll do it... but how?"
Well, with only having 2 marathons so far under my belt I qualified!! I can't tell you how excited and anxious I am. From now until the race I want to continue getting faster and faster and hopefully run with the top elite individuals. My official race time for my first marathon put me running at about an 8:20/mile pace (I learned so much during that race!) to then, only 6 weeks after, I ran again and dropped my time to a steady, easy-going 7:55/mile pace. And then, only 6 weeks after that, I have dropped my time even more to being a consistent 7:05min/mile pace during training time, which is what I need to qualify for the NYC Marathon. Bring on my next race! I am so excited to share this journey with you as I challenge myself in a new way.
The Purpose, The Call to Duty
In logging all of these miles I have been taking prayer requests and praying for individuals and their families during my morning prayers and during training time. Contact me, if you are in need of prayer! I'd love to be able to pray for you.
While I'm training and racing, I'll also be taking things a step farther and raising money for the non-profit organization, Anna's Grace Foundation, that is very close to my heart. Be sure to keep up with me on Instagram as I'll be posting how I'm raising money for this organization.
Being able to run for Anna's Grace means a lot to me. I'm looking forward to seeing how we all can make a difference for these families! It's a beautiful gift. Check out the "Charities We Support" Page for more details too by clicking HERE.
If you feel called to give please visit: https://www.gofundme.com/helping-families-saving-lives
The money donated will go directly to this Charity. I will not be handling any money at all. Thank you again for your support!
Now, time to fuel myself up and head out for a distance run this morning! Have a beautiful day!
